I applied for a local pitch competition for film projects. I'm nearly as terrified to be selected as I am excited at the prospect. My script... I'm not confident in it. It's not what I really want for this project. I want to tie in more connections and intricacies, and it's just... a plop of plot and characters. I don't know what else to say. I rushed to tweak my treatment and pitch deck for the application and RSVP'd to the event regardless to see how a pitch actually works (!).
In addition to that, I've got writing group this weekend and a mere four pages written. It's a scene from the movie in novel form. I'm not thrilled with this project so far, although I think I lack any substantial vision for a different story-at least right now.
I've also got to get going on usability testing for my third project. It's been far too long on the shelf and it's holding up my Google Certificate progress.
Feeling busy, but stuck at the same time. I prefer the structure of deadlines and outside pressure. I'm not a terribly self-motivated person and that worries me when it comes to contract work or remote work (common modes in UX).
The plans for my family vacation/visit up north have been stressful and convoluted so far. I want to see my friends as well, but I'm not sure we'll have time and if we stay longer we stay almost two weeks longer before we can get a ride back home... it's complicated.
I'm excited for the school year to conclude, but still a little deluded about my teaching career ending and losing my peeps. Honestly, there are about 5 people I'll truly miss and want to keep in touch with. Luckily, I have most of those relationships built up to that point where I could text for a lunch date or something and probably work things out. I just have to maintain those relationships.
Oh. Had a job offer. From a scammer. Pretty sure. Can't necessarily prove it, since they didn't get to steal my identity, but they were highly suspicious. I reported them. Wasted some time, but got to see a little bit of what a UX interview could look like.
